Ballet Cymru is an international touring ballet company for Wales, who have had a long-lasting relationship with Welsh singer, songwriter, author and broadcaster, Cerys Matthews. Cerys is a Patron of Ballet Cymru and has supported and worked alongside them for many years. Herself and her music have been heavily involved in the work of choreographers Darius James and Amy Doughty.
On 4 November at The Riverfront Theatre in Newport, Cerys Matthews will be selling signed copies of her book, ‘Dylan Thomas’s Under Milk Wood: A retelling by Cerys Matthews’. Matthews’ visit is in support of the Ballet Cymru and National Youth Dance Wales’s performance of A Child’s Christmas by Dylan Thomas, in which she provided the narration and worked with Mason Neely to create the wonderful music for. Cerys said the performance is ‘perfect whatever your age, 1-100, and such a festive story’.
