This October half-term, Newport’s Mo Williams undertook a HUGE challenge for BBC Children in Need, completing a WHOLE marathon round the running track at Newport Stadium at the Newport International Sports Village, Spytty, all with an egg and spoon!!

Coming in with an impressive 105 laps,Mo’s challenge was the latest in his endeavours having completed many crazy challenges for the charity in previous years, including running between every Greggs in Cardiff in 2025.

This year Mo has already exceeded his fundraising target, coming in at over 200% of his original target of £1000, another great achievement.

“I would just like to thank everyone who helped me” commented Mo. “This includes my wife Emma, colleagues and friends from Cineworld Cinemas, RUNNewport and Wholesome Health & Fitness ; many of whom ran with me to help keep me sane.

A big thanks goes to Newport Live for facilitating the run. Newport Stadium is a superb facility, and we should be proud that we have it in our city.”

“We’re honoured to have been able to support this fantastic cause, by providing the venue” commented Andrea Ovey, Director of Business Development. “It’s a fantastic accomplishment by Mo and as an organisation who inspires people to become happier and healthier, we’re fully on board with such a sporting challenge!”

The secret to Mo’s success?.... all the eggs were pre boiled!!
