Covid 19 Terms and Conditions

By making a booking with us you agree to the following terms and conditions, which are in addition to Newport Live standard Terms & Conditions. 

These conditions are subject to change at any time. 
 
General Rules 

  • You must book and pay for your session before your arrival. This can be done via our website or app. We will be unable to accept ‘Walk In Sessions’.
  • Do not come to any Newport Live Centre if you or anyone in your household are unwell, have any Covid-19 symptoms or have been told to self-isolate. If you have made a booking but suspect someone in your party may be displaying symptoms of Covid-19 please contact us on enquiries@newportlive.co.uk to cancel your booking.
  • Newport Live is following safety guidance from UK Active and Covid-19 response approved. Please always follow all Covid-19 response approved notices and signage clearly on display.
  • Respect social distancing always.
  • You will need to swipe in for all sessions or check-in with an instructor where this is not possible.
  • Please ensure you arrive no more than 5 minutes before your session and follow the guidance at the centre of your activity.
  • For the safety of you and our customers, if you arrive late for your booked time you will be refused entry.
  • Please arrive ready for your activity as changing rooms will be out of use (limited swimming changing rooms are available for use after your swim). Lockers will not be available. We will be operating cashless across all sites where possible.
  • Equipment will not be available for hire or loan across any of our centres.
  • Please ensure you always listen to our staff, follow their instructions, and treat all staff with courtesy.
  • Stay within marked zones or areas and keep left as you move around our centres. 
  • Bring your own drinking water and use the hand sanitiser available, towels will not be permitted (except for swimming), blue roll will be provided. Lockers will be out of use, please only bring what you need. 
  • You must not go from the one activity to another. You need separate bookings and you must exit and re-enter using the approved routes.
  • If you wish to wear a mask to train then please do, we will, however, not be enforcing the wearing of masks. 
  • We would ask you NOT to wear disposable gloves whilst in the facility but to sanitise your hands before/after using each piece of equipment instead. 
  • Once you complete your activity please do not congregate in groups, please exit the centre promptly following the appropriate signage.  
  • We will pass on information regarding your visit to the NHS Test, Trace, Protect service if requested to do so. 

 
Gym Rules  

  • Please familiarise with the Covid19 Health Commitment Statement on display across our centres, you will be asked to sign this electronically in the coming weeks.
  • You will need to arrive, complete your activity, and leave within one hour. 
  • Towels are not permitted; blue roll will be provided. 
  • Please bring your own drinking water, water fountains will not be available.   
  • Wipe down all equipment before and after use with the cleaning materials provided. 
  • Do not use any equipment that has been placed out of use. 
  • You will not be able to go from the gym to the pool or exercise class or vice versa. You need separate bookings and you must exit and re-enter using the approved routes. 
  • You must train alone; you cannot use equipment where you would need a ‘spotter’. 
  •  Exercise responsibly maintaining social distancing always. 

 
Group Exercise Class Rules  

  • You will need to arrive, complete your class, and leave the centre promptly, please do not congregate in groups. 
  • Towels are not permitted; blue roll will be provided. 
  • Please bring your own drinking water, water fountains will not be available.   
  • Wipe down all equipment before and after use with the cleaning materials provided. 
  • Bring your own mats and appropriate fitness class equipment if you can. 
  • Do not use any equipment that has been placed out of use. 
  • You must not go from the class to the gym or pool or vice versa. You need separate bookings and you must exit and re-enter using the approved routes. 
  • Exercise responsibly maintaining social distancing always. 

 
Swim Rules 

  • You will need to arrive, complete your swim, and leave the centre promptly, please do not congregate in groups. 
  • Come ‘swim ready’ as changing rooms will not be available prior to your swim; you will be allocated a space to remove your clothes and store your belongings poolside. We will be able to support customers with assisted needs. 
  • Please use the showers at poolside for a pre-hygiene shower. 
  • Swimmers will need to book a slow, medium, or fast lane during their booking, there will be other swimmers in the lane at the same time. Respect lane discipline and other swimmers, overtaking will not be permitted. 
  • Swimming equipment/floatation aids are not permitted, except for googles, swim caps, nose, clips, ear plugs and any other personal equipment. Bring your own swimming equipment and floats. 
  • You must not go from the pool to the gym or exercise class or vice versa. You need separate bookings and you must exit and re-enter using the approved routes. 
  • Swim responsibly maintaining social distancing during always. 
  • Backstroke is prohibited. 
  • Children can book into these sessions; however, they must be competent swimmers, able to lane swim. This will be subject to Newport Live Child supervision guidelines across our centres. 

 
Tennis Rules 

  • Pre-booked courts only, please familiarise yourself with our court capacities in line with Tennis Wales. Spectators will not be permitted.
  • All people playing together must arrive at the same time. 
  • Change courts responsibly, please vacate your court at least 5 mins ahead of your booking. 
  •  Access to courts 2 and 4 is via the tennis balcony only. 
  • Towels are not permitted; blue roll will be provided.
  • Bring your own tennis equipment.
  • Equipment is not available to hire or loan. 
  • Play responsibly maintaining social distancing during the game and when retrieving balls from other courts.
