New Accessible Pool Steps Improves Access for Swimmers at Regional Pool & Tennis Centre
Newport Live is delighted to announce the installation of new accessible pool steps in the main pool at the Regional Pool & Tennis Centre, at Newport International Sports Village, further improving access for customers of all ages and abilities.
Available from Monday 13 July, the specially designed steps provide an additional way for customers to enter and exit the main pool safely and comfortably. The new steps complement the existing pool hoist, offering greater access choice for swimmers.

Designed to make swimming more accessible, the steps will benefit a wide range of users, including older adults, people with disabilities, those recovering from injury, young families and anyone who may feel less confident using traditional pool ladders.

The accessible steps will be available during the following times:
· Monday to Friday: 9.00am – 3.30pm
· Sunday: 9.00am – 7.00pm
The project has been funded through the UK Government Shared Prosperity Fund, enabling Newport Live to continue investing in facilities that support healthier, more active communities.

Steve Ward, Chief Executive of Newport Live, said:
"We are incredibly proud of our commitment to making our facilities as accessible and inclusive as possible. These new accessible pool steps have been specially created, with thanks to the UK Government Shared Prosperity Fund, to improve access to our main pool and provide more choice for customers when entering the water.
Our mission is to be at the heart of the communities we serve, and that means removing barriers to participation wherever we can.
This investment, alongside our wide range of membership options and facilities, helps ensure that more people can enjoy the many physical, social and wellbeing benefits that swimming provides."
Customers can book public swimming and lane swim sessions via the Newport Live App or by calling 01633 656757.
