That’s it, you’ve read it right; monsters have started popping up all over the place, they have taken over The Riverfront Theatre and now the city of Newport is at risk.

If you haven’t heard already, there’s been some strange activity in Newport. From Joanie down the road noticing a new hole in her wall, Marcy’s chips disappearing and mysterious packages turning up…It’s all VERY STRANGE!

But now we know what it’s all about!

How To Defeat Monsters (and get away with it) is a Flossy and Boo and The Riverfront Theatre & Arts Centre Co-Production, coming to Newport for the Easter Holidays.

The production is an interactive, immersive theatre experience. If you try to imagine an escape room mixed with a theatre show mixed with an adventure playground then you’ll get an idea of what this unique experience will be.

From 1 years old to 100 years old, this is suitable for people of all ages! It is a wild and wonderful family experience that will have you scrambling around spaces, rummaging through research and delving into a hidden world to become the best Monster Seeker you can be.

There are two types of experiences: Explore Sessions and Performance Sessions. Explore sessions allow you to explore the space at your own pace, supported by our Monster Seeking Hosts. In the Performance Sessions the space will be brought to life with live performers; you can meet the team of Monster Seekers, delve into a hidden world and become the best Monster Seeker you can be!

The experience will run from Saturday 1 April until Saturday 15 April, with a variety of session times in The Riverfront Theatre’s basement space. BSL interpreted performances are on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10am, 11am & 2pm. Ticket prices start from £5 and a group discount applies for groups of 3+ (the group must include 1 child).

Flossy and Boo and The Riverfront Theatre are recruiting Monster Seekers to help them explore, play and be brave in the underground mission to learn as much as we can about these mischievous monsters no matter how dangerous… big, small, slimy and fluffy…

You need to make sure that S.C.R.A.M don’t find out about the mission… they are the Society for the Control and Removal of Awful Monsters….baddies, proper baddies. Are you up for the challenge?
