Newport Live is seeking a freelance interim Creative Producer.

The interim Creative Producer will work with the team at The Riverfront Theatre & Arts Centre to support with producing 2 key events within the venues calendar for 2022.

It is anticipated that the role would be 2 days a week. We are interested in applicants who are able to start working under contract from the end of May or early June.

The role will include:

Pantomime

  • Continue ongoing work to build a suitable cast and creative team for Robin Hood 2022

  • Oversee script drafts and final approvals

  • Oversee the commissioning of musical arrangements in consultation with the creative team

  • Continue ongoing work to manage casting, negotiate with agents and act as a point of contact for agents

  • Oversee the selection and management of a juvenile ensemble

  • Ensure health and safety compliance of the production

  • Work with the Productions Executive to oversee and ensure travel, accommodation and rider requirements are booked

  • Manage and review the production budget with the HoTAC

  • Oversee all aspects and operational requirements of the annual pantomime production including scheduling and planning, managing the cast and creative team

  • Working with the team at the Riverfront to deliver a pantomime that achieves its creative, development and financial targets.

 

Summer Festival

  • Work with the team at the Riverfront to oversee the Summer Festival ensuring it delivers against the festival objectives and remains within the allocated budget.

  • Continue ongoing work to identify and curate a mixed programme of professional street theatre and outdoor art, negotiating and contracting creative partners for the festival

  • Oversee all aspects and operational requirements and demands of an outdoor arts festival with a particular focus on artist and audience safety

  • Work with Newport Live production, technical and operational staff and external programming partners and agencies to ensure smooth delivery and scheduling of the festival

 

Applications should have a proven track record of creative development and  delivery of high profile cultural events including budget management, planning and organisational skills and working as part of a team.

Salary: £250 per day
