Free swimming allows 8 – 16 years old, over 60s, members of the armed forces and veterans to swim for free at selected times at the Regional Pool & Tennis Centre and the Active Living Centre.

Under 17s Free Swimming

8 - 16 years are entitled to swim for free at designated times on the weekend and during school summer holidays. To be eligible for free swimming you must possess a free swim card. Application forms can be downloaded here and can be returned to any Newport Live venue where you will be issued with a card.

Saturday 3 - 3.55pm

Free Swimming for Over 60’s

Over 60s can swim for free during designated times at any Newport Live pool. To be eligible for free swimming you must possess a free swim card. Application forms can be downloaded here and can be returned to any Newport Live venue where you will be issued with a card. Please bring with you proof of eligibility e.g. pension book, driving licence etc.

Free Swimming for Armed Forces & Veterans

Members of the armed forces and veterans can swim for free all year round at public and adult only swim sessions at any Newport Live pool. To be eligible for free swimming you must possess a Defence Privilege Card. For further information on the scheme and to apply for your Defence Privilege Card please visit www.defencediscountservice.co.uk.

Free swimming sessions must be booked in advance.

Please book the public swimming session at the free swimming times shown above and if you are Under 16 or Over 60 the system will automatically remove any charges.
