Youth Intro To Track
The session focuses on getting riders used to a fixed-wheel bike and how to ride the track with the guidance of a British Cycling qualified coach.
An ideal way to try track cycling before starting our Track Attack course!
Suitable for riders aged 9 -15 years.
Monday: 5 - 6pm
Saturday: 9 - 10am
Sunday: 3 - 4pm
Youth Track Attack
Weekly drop-in sessions for 9 - 14 year olds that will allow riders to work towards their track accreditation at their own pace in a safe and structured environment with a fully qualified, friendly coach.
Riders will receive a card that will be stamped each time they attend a session to track and mark off your progress.
Completion of the course will allow riders to access Youth Development Session on a Saturday morning.
Monday: 6 - 7pm
Saturday: 1 - 2pm
Cost: £10:30 includes bike hire.
Start Gate Session
For riders to practice start gate with 1/4 or 1/2 lap efforts.
Suitable for riders of all abilities.
Wednesday: 9 - 10am
Welsh Cycling / Newport Live Development Session
These sessions consist of the Welsh Cycling Sprint Talent Development Centres and the U12 and Improvers sessions. Please book on to this if you would like to attend either session.
Aimed at U12 and Improvers
These sessions follow the Saturday Youth Development Sessions and are designed for riders who are comfortable riding all over the track and in close proximity to others.
They are specifically tailored for U12 riders and U14s/U16s who may have limited track experience. If you're uncertain about your suitability for these sessions, please contact Ffion.firstname.lastname@example.org for guidance on the most appropriate session for you.
These sessions are dedicated to enhancing a rider's track confidence by focusing on the technical, physical, and tactical aspects necessary for competitive racing.
Sprint Talent Development Centre
The Welsh Cycling Talent Development Centre for Sprint is open to all Youth A, B and Junior riders. These sessions will focus on training for the different sprint events.
These training sessions concentrate on honing skills for various sprint events. The knowledge and abilities gained in these sessions will prove valuable to any track rider, regardless of whether their primary focus is sprinting or endurance riding.
Wednesday: 6 - 8pm
Youth Race Nights
Youth A & B is aimed at experienced riders.
Youth B & C is aimed at all Youth C riders but also for B riders who may be newer to track racing or would like to gain more confidence racing indoor track.
Every other Friday: 7:30pm
Youth Development Session
The session is ideal for riders who are looking to improve their fitness and confidence on the wheel, refine skills and introduce entry-level race craft.
A mixed ability session for riders 9 - 15 years who will be broken down into smaller groups based on their levels/abilities.
Saturday: 10am - 1pm
Cost: £6.85 bike hire is not included.
