The Riverfront Theatre & Arts Centre are incredibly excited to be partnering with The Escape Rooms Newport this April and May to transform their underground space into a curious and curiouser Wonderland themed walk-through experience.
In an exciting first for the city centre venue the basement will be transformed into a space full of wonder and awe. As visitors enter Wonderland they will quickly discover that nothing is quite what it seems and everything seems like it shouldn’t… As visitors walk through the space they will experience a range of delights including amazing lights, artwork and optical illusions that will both amaze and baffle.
Visitors to Wonderland will get to go down the rabbit hole and crash the Mad Hatter’s tea party, navigate the underground woods, then watch themselves shrink and grow and walk on the ceiling as their world gets turned upside down. The impossible will happen right before their eyes!
Wonderland is an interactive and immersive experience that takes the weird and often dreamlike strangeness of Carroll’s work and runs with it. Wonderland is not an escape room but an opportunity to walk through and explore the space for an hour and enjoy the illusions, secrecy, and scenery around you.
In addition to the standard tickets on sale, visitors can also book to explore during one of The Riverfront’s special Wonderland experience events.
There will be special adults only evenings for ages 18+ that will allow the public to enjoy the space complete with a live DJ set plus a cocktail bar at the Mad Hatters tea party. There are limited tickets available for these truly unique experiences complete with great music and some surprises along the way!
On selected dates Hummadruz Theatre will also be performing in Wonderland and adding an extra element of adventure as they provide a unique performance creating UV theatre to music, a perfect added extra to amaze all members of the family.
