Open call-out: artists working in participatory arts to be part of the ‘coaching artists pathway,’a coaching programme for participatory artists

The Wales Artist Coaching Pathway is a Wales-wide pilot led by Artworks Cymru to specifically support freelance artists working in the participatory arts.  The Pathway will set up a coaching-style relationship and dialogue between an artist-coach and artist-coachees in which the coachees can explore their practice, aspirations, needs and potential in a structured way at venues across Wales.

The partnership is inviting expressions of interest from artists based in Newport and the wider Gwent area to be coached by artist coach, Jon Dafydd-Kidd, supported by The Riverfront Theatre and Arts Centre.

Selected artists will enter into a coaching relationship with Jon, which will consist of four individual sessions. Due to the implications of Covid-19 these sessions will take place via Zoom.

This is a FREE programme and is made possible with support from Arts Council Wales and Paul Hamlyn Foundation.

We are keen to hear form artists from all artforms and backgrounds.

Artists must:

• Have at least 12 months professional experience in the participatory arts sector (leading or supporting)

• be available for sessions between end of February – April 2021;

• be willing and able to commit to undertake coaching sessions with Jon Dafydd-Kidd (4 individual sessions);

• be willing and able to commit to taking part in reflection and evaluation of the program

• be living and/or working in the Newport or wider Gwent area

This is an open recruitment process.
