Newport Live’s Arts Development team has an opportunity for 5 Creative Community Arts Practitioners from any specialty. We would like this call to be as open as possible to provide arts practitioners the chance to develop an idea that they would like to take forward.
Newport Live’s Arts Development team has recently received a grant through the Winter of Well-being Fund (Welsh Assembly Funded) which enables us to offer 5 opportunities of up to £2,500 each.
In order to apply you must either be under 25 or work with young people under 25 years.
Your project should seek to support the wellbeing of children and young people or you as a person under 25
You can apply to develop your own practice and/or work within a community setting.
We would also welcome projects that take place within community settings, The Riverfront Theatre & Arts Centre itself, or virtually.
These projects are by no means focussing on an end product (e.g. an exhibition/ performance) but practitioners can use Riverfront facilities if this feels appropriate to the project.
This is an extremely open call. We recognise the challenging time we have all gone through during the past 18 months and we feel that it is necessary to allow some space for creativity and development.
We hope this gives you as practitioners some freedom to explore your own practice and thoughts.
If you are working within a community setting your project will provide a much-needed opportunity to re-engage with creativity and community.
Please send through a brief proposal (No more than 2 sides of A4), plus a copy of your CV and any images (if relevant to your application).
If you are working with young people, it is important that you have a current DBS.
All projects must be completed by the end of March 2022.
