This Thursday at 8pm, when the nation once again stands on their doorsteps to clap for our carers, The Riverfront Theatre & Arts Centre in Newport will be lit up blue to honour the NHS staff and keyworkers providing vital services during the coronavirus crisis.

Following the guidance from the UK Government and Public Health Wales, The Riverfront has been closed to the public since 16th March. The building will be lit up blue along with hundreds of other global venues as part of the #MakeItBlue campaign to show thanks to the NHS and those risking their health to help others.

Steve Ward, Chief Executive at Newport Live said “Whilst we find ourselves in this unprecedented situation and are unable to welcome audiences into The Riverfront, by lighting up our theatre in the centre of the city we can express our overwhelming thanks to the amazing key workers who are risking their health during this pandemic to help others.”

During the closure, Newport Live have been sharing activities and screenings on their website to support the community of Newport with getting creative whilst they are at home, along with other exercises and content to help people keep Happy and Healthy at Home.
