Newport Live have an extensive programme of fun activities and events this Summer for children, young people, and families to take part in! Across our leisure facilities, Riverfront Theatre, and in the community on parks, estates, and school premise green spaces we will provide low cost opportunities that inspire people to be happier and healthier.

This summer we have been supported by a collection of local registered social landlords Newport City Homes (NCH), Melin Homes, Linc Cymru, and Pobl who see our work as a positive way for us all to collaborate, provide opportunities for residents, and to work together on engaging and reaching communities positively.

The Big Splash weekend in the city centre, and Sport in the Park events at Beechwood Park, Tredegar Park, and Rogerstone Welfare as well as Pop Up Sport family events at smaller green spaces linked to community school sites will be attended by Housing Association staff alongside Newport Live teams.

Mark Chircop, Economic Development & Partnership Facilitator at Newport City Homes, said: “Newport City Homes are pleased to announce, that we are supporting Newport Live at the 2022 Big Splash event and across the Summer. The NCH team will be joining forces with Melin, Pobl Group and Linc Cymru as a collaborative team, supporting our communities in a variety of ways. The event is going to be a showcase of entertainment which will allow us as a city wide team to be as one. Feel free to stop by and chat with us all.'

Natalie Hawkins, Community Regeneration Manager at Linc, said: “We’re delighted to be teaming up with Newport City Homes, Melin and Pobl Group, to support Newport Live. Big Splash 2022 is shaping up to be a fantastic event for the local community and we’re looking forward to a jam-packed programme of activities. Members of the Linc team will be available at the event, so please do stop for a chat if you see us.”

Karl Reed, Head of Community Sport & Wellbeing at Newport Live, said: “It’s been a really positive step forward to collaborate with housing partners a little more ‘as one’, and this will help the housing associations and ourselves at Newport Live to reach and support our communities, residents, and families with lots of fun sports, physical activity, arts, crafts, and entertainment opportunities whilst being on hand to provide support, advice, and information to those that need it but in informal and accessible places”.

Newport Live deliver sport, arts, theatre, health and wellbeing, inclusion, community safety, and youth engagement opportunities for children, families, schools, sport clubs and communities across Newport. We strive to make a difference by encouraging people to be more physically active and support people’s mental wellbeing. The organisation is held in high regard locally, regionally, and nationally by partners, and continue to use sport and the arts as a tool to engage and inspire people to be happier and healthier.

As Newport Live is a charitable organisation, all of its customers and members are helping to support the delivery of community projects and activities across Newport
