
Newport Live are bringing back, this summer, a unique 2 day programme designed to increase practical exercise skills and nutritional knowledge for 12-16 year olds. This course aims to introduce young people to Fitness helping them to ace their techniques, build confidence and make friends!
The course content includes learning about goal setting, types of fitness, correct methods of training and will have the chance to experience exercise classes and use Newport Live fitness facilities. Rookies will have the opportunity to learn about goal setting, types of fitness and correct methods of training. On course completion – Rookies will have a certificate of attendance and are invited to become Rookie Champions and volunteer on future courses.

This is a great opportunity to pass on our enthusiasm, knowledge and passion for fitness to young people and give them opportunity to learn new skills and learn more about the world of leisure and fitness.”
Rookie Fitness is set to take place at Newport Centre on the 9th and 11th of August and on the 23rd and 25th of August from 10am to 2pm and can be booked via the Newport Live website.
As an existing junior member of Newport Live, you’ll pay just £18.50 for the 2 days, or if you aren’t a member, its £42.50 with 6 weeks of free junior membership access, meaning you can go and use the gyms and pools all summer long! Usual monthly memberships for Juniors is £17.50 per month, or benefit from 3 months free and purchase an annual membership for £157.50.
Newport Live is a non-profit distribution organisation and registered charity, which means the money they make is wholly reinvested into the services and facilities they offer, so all Newport Live customers are supporting the local community through the delivery of these projects and activities.
