Want to be able to fix issues with your bike to keep you on the road?

 

We are offering a series of free sessions to help you stay on top of common problems. No prior bike-repair knowledge is needed to get the most out of these sessions.

Basic bike set-up & Road-side maintenance

These sessions will teach you how to set up a new bike you’ve bought or borrowed and fix common things that can go wrong when you’re out riding.  

Home maintenance

Learn techniques to keep your bike running smoothly and reduce the wear and tear on your bike’s components, saving you time and money. We will introduce you to the standard tools every bike owner should have in their toolbox.

 

All tools will be provided.  

We recommend wearing clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty. For safety reasons, please wear shoes that cover your whole foot aka no sandals or open-toe shoes. Aprons will be provided for anyone who would like to use them.

Mental Health Fix A Bike Workshop at Dragons Eco Hub, Rodney Parade

Fix a bike workshop. Tools, parts, and bikes provided. Guidance from momentwm mechanics. No experience is needed. Bring your own bike or learn on one of our secondhand bikes.

 Fix a Bike at Newport Market

Momentwm will be holding Fix a Bike sessions at Newport Market next to Bab Haus Mex over the coming dates between:

 

Fri 27th Feb 10:00-15:00

Fri 27th Mar 10:00-15:00

Fri 24th Apr 10:00-15:00

Bring you bike down to the market to get it checked by a qualified bike mechanic and adjusted free of charge.

There will be two or three bike mechanics working through the bikes, this can take 30-60min to complete and this will be run as a first come, first served basis, we will be unable to store bikes due to the size restraints so people will have to wait or return later.

We hope to be able to fix most repairs however, we don’t have a stock of all parts so some may not be possible on the day. We can offer a future date and get the parts ordered or signpost to bike shops who will fit more specific parts.  

We will also be able to give information on all our other activities and programs to help got you cycling, walking, and wheeling around the city.
