We have set up a Walking Network based around community hubs across Newport, running guided walks so that you can meet like-minded people who want to do more on foot.

Our walks are designed to take in the parks and attractions of Newport so that people can see that walking can be a good alternative to getting in the car to get to a lot of places.

Our sessions will be run by trained walk leaders at a relaxed pace, with no one left behind. Our walks are free of charge and open to everyone. All under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult or guardian.

Please dress in accordance with the weather. We recommend wearing trainers or walking shoes. While open-toed shoes, sandals, and canvas footwear might provide comfort during dry conditions, they may not be suitable if it rains or if we encounter muddy paths.

Meet Emily and Jane, your Momentwm walk leaders!

One-off walking special - Friday 24 October 2025

Join us for a short walk from the Regional Pool & Tennis Centre at our NISV site -  to the historic Newport Medieval Ship where we will have the opportunity to have a tour of this fantastic historic project.

The Newport Medieval Ship is a fifteenth century merchant vessel, the remains of which were unearthed in the heart of Newport in 2002 during the building work for our very own Riverfornt Theatre & Arts centre! Building work was paused while excavations could take place. The timbers have since undergone a lengthy conservation pricess so the ship can eventually be displayed to the public.

This walk is a one-off special which isn't to be missed for anyone yet to see the Ship!

Should you wish to come by public Transport the No 45 Bus leaves Newport  Bus Station at 9.35. The return bus leaves the our Regional Pool & Tennis Centre at 12.26.

To book this you can book via the app or contact momentwm@newportlive.co.uk
