Witness an incredible event right here in Newport!

The final stage of the 2025 Lloyds Tour of Britain Men on Sunday 7 September will start in Newport, outside the Geraint Thomas Velodrome, and finish in Cardiff.

The second of two days of action-packed racing on the climbs and valleys of south Wales, stage six will loop from the city of Newport to a finish on North Road in Cardiff, close to city hall in the Welsh capital.

It marks the first visit for the Lloyds Tour of Britain Men to Cardiff since 2017, and only the second time in the modern race’s history that the city has hosted the event’s overall finish.

The team presentation before the final stage of this fantastic event will be held inside our very own Geraint Thomas Velodrome, so spectators will be able to enjoy the live team presentations from inside the Geraint Thomas Velodrome!!

But if you missed out on tickets don't worry - as well as a ticketed waiting list (see below)  we're also encouraging EVERYONE to come and join us in the grounds of our Velodrome to cheer on the riders - you don't want to miss out on Geraint Thomas in his last race before retirement or the other elite athletes speeding through our streets this September!!!

The Tour of Britain Men stage 6 is being hosted by Newport City Council in partnership with Newport Live, and is being funded by UK government through its Shared Prosperity Fund.

 Please note - the start of the stage, and the team parking area will both be located outside the Geraint Thomas Velodrome and so tickets will not be required for outdoor areas.

Newport Live will be holding an event village at the Geraint Thomas National Velodrome of Wales which will include an outdoor area with a screen for spectators who couldn’t secure tickets, to watch the presentation and the race on a big screen. They can also find out about:

Momentwm will also be hosting a  bike valet available for those travelling actively to the Sports Village, which will include a bike health check and space to store your bike – this will be for up to 100 bikes.

We’ll be running FREE sessions from 12.30 – 3pm which can be booked in advance and also at the Newport Live marquee.

• Pump Track Tasters (mountain bike track)
• Wheels for All Tasters – bringing a range of our accessible bikes across to showcase the opportunity
• Indoor Group Cycling (Spin) taster sessions
• Cycle Speedway have a fixture in the afternoon against
• Newport Cricket Club also have a U13s Cup Final day on site at the village
• NV2 Youth Cycling Club will be in attendance
