Newport LIVE is looking to recruit a suitably qualified Exercise Professional as part of the established Newport Live fitness team.

You will assist the Heath, Fitness and Wellbeing Manager and Team Leaders with the implementation of the Newport Live member journey. Offering the best possible customer experience within the fitness club and encouraging repeat custom.

You will hold a minimum of a REPS Recognised Level 2 Fitness Instructor Qualification. Practical experience within the environment would be an advantage.

You must also show evidence of working using your own initiative and experience dealing with customers, as well as the knowledge & understanding of working within your qualified area, health and safety and member retention.

The ability to deliver group exercise fitness classes in line with our extensive class timetable would be advantageous. If group exercise is also something you are interesting in, please specify on your application form and if successful you will be considered for a group exercise audition. Please note this is a separate role to the Casual Gym Instructor.

Grade 2 SCP 11 - 14

£9.00 per hour

Newport LIVE is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual to the post of Part Time Receptionist for 12.75 hours per week.

The successful applicant will be based at the Active Living Centre and will assist in ensuring all customers of facilities experience a welcoming and safe environment that is fit for purpose, resulting in maximum enjoyment and repeat usage of facilities. Previous experience of working as a Receptionist or in a similar busy customer facing role is highly desirable.

Grade 2 SCP 11 – 14

£17,330 per annum (pro rata)

Newport LIVE is looking to recruit two part time, enthusiastic and motivated individuals to the position of Recreation Assistant.

The posts available are:

1 x 12.5 hours per week

1 x 22 hours per week

The successful applicant will be based at Newport Centre and will assist in ensuring all users and customers of the venues experience a welcoming and safe environment that is fit for purpose, resulting in maximum enjoyment and repeat usage of venues.

As a minimum requirement the applicant will need to possess an STA NARS or RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Certificate.

The post will require the post holder to work early mornings, evenings and weekends on a rota basis and the post holder will be required to attend mandatory staff training sessions.

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and is subject to a successful Disclosing and Barring Service (DBS) check.

Newport Live is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual to a job share post of Business Support Officer.

Working as an integral part of the Human Resources team this role will assist and support the Executive Team and the HR Manager in the provision of an efficient and effective service for Newport Live.

The role requirements include providing administration support for the Executive Team and taking a lead responsibility for all transactional HR processes and systems. The post holder will assist with the implementation, maintenance and development of human resource processes in line with Newport Live’s policies and procedures.

As a minimum requirement, applicants will need to have experience of having worked in a HR or Payroll environment, have sound excellent administration skills and be educated to level 3 of the National Qualification framework. Candidates should also demonstrate good IT skills, great communication skills and an appreciation of, and commitment to, confidentiality.

Successful applicants are required to work across all Newport LIVE which includes the Riverfront Theatre, Newport International Sports Village and the Newport Centre.

You will assist in the provision of a positive customer experience within our Food & Beverage department.

This role will include working in the café and bars along with helping to organise and host children’s parties. This will entail the service and preparation of food, cash handling, cleaning catering areas and preparing areas for children’s parties.

The post holder will be required to work mornings, evenings and weekends as and when required.

The successful applicants will be expected to work at Newport Live's venues, which includes the Newport International Sports Village, Newport Centre or The Riverfront Theatre where they will assist in ensuring all users and customers of facilities experience a welcoming and safe environment that is fit for purpose, resulting in maximum enjoyment and repeat usage of facilities.

Duties will include cleaning tasks to ensure that the facility is maintained to a high level of hygiene and cleanliness.

The post holder will need to have:

  • an awareness of COSHH Regulations
  • experience of cleaning in public facilities

The post holder will be required to work early mornings, evenings and weekends on a rota basis.

Newport Live is looking to recruit a suitably qualified Casual Group Exercise Instructor as part of the established Newport Live group exercise program.

You will be independently teaching our participants group exercise appropriate to their level, ability and brand standards of Newport Live offering the best possible customer experience within the club and encouraging repeat custom.

You will hold a minimum of REPS Level 2 Fitness Instructor or Exercise to Music Qualification with appropriate CPD qualification relevant to the classes intended. Practical experience within the environment would be an advantage.

Grade 6 - SCP 25

£12.19 per hour

We are looking for suitably qualified Level 3 Tennis Coach as part of the established Newport Live Integrated Tennis Programme. 

You will assist the Tennis Manager and Tennis coaches with the implementations and sales of the Newport Live weekly Tennis Programme. 

You will also deliver and evaluate tennis lessons (following the LTA teaching progressions and guidelines)

You will hold a LTA Level 3 Coach qualification. Applicants must have practical experience of the mini tennis progressions and delivering tennis lessons to children, beginner adults and learners with specific needs within the leisure environment.

You must also show evidence of working using your own initiative and experience dealing with customers, as well as knowledge & understanding of Child Protection policies in a tennis environment.

Newport LIVE are looking for suitable volunteers to join our dynamic team to help deliver our Integrated Swim Programme. The successful volunteer will be responsible for assisting in the sessions in a wide range of our programmes and events throughout the city.

The Integrated Swim Programme delivers a comprehensive aquatic programme including learn to swim, school swim programme, competitive swimming & water polo, lessons for children with specific needs, holiday activities, community clubs and other aquatic sports.

You will have the opportunity to attend the swim development coach education programme including stroke specific workshops, safeguarding and disability awareness. The aim of which is to develop teaching and engagement skills and ultimately improved sessions for our participants.
