The Newport Live Alternative Education Programme works with young people from mainstream and other educational settings providing a support, guidance and pastoral care for those young people whom are disengaged.

The programme supports 1 to 1 and group placements on a flexible and adaptable timetable, whereby each young person receives personalised learning support and access to a range of opportunities to gain nationally recon qualifications. Some of the qualifications include Level 1 & 2 in Personal and Social Development, Level 1 & 2 in Personal and employability skills and also Asdan accreditations.

All young people receive an assigned mentor that will support and guide them through their time on the programme. In addition the young people have access to a wide network of local agencies that support everything from substance misuse to mental health; this provision is enhanced by the access to regular sport and physical activity.

The programme hosts an open and inviting learning environment, a full equipped kitchen and access to state of the art regional sports facilities.

How to make a referral to the programme?
