2 day programme (23 & 25 July) designed to increase practical exercise skills and nutritional knowledge for 14-16 year olds.

The course will teach young people Exercise and Nutrition basics. Topics will be layered around goal setting, overcoming barriers and correct exercise technique. They will learn the basics of cardiovascular and weight training methods appropriate to this age group. 

Pillared against industry guidelines it also taps into nutrition, making sense of topics such as carbohydrates, proteins and fats as well as fad diets and healthy long term lifestyle choices. 

The course will take place over 2 days within the Newport Centre gym for practical sessions and in the Newport Centre Loft for Q&A, discussion and presentations.

All in all, a good introduction to exercising safer and smarter, giving parents peace of mind!
