Track League at the Geraint Thomas National Velodrome of Wales runs for 11 weeks from January to March. It is a three-league format for Accredited Riders ONLY.

Track League Groups

Our track league groups are based on a riders age, fitness levels and experience of racing on an indoor track. 

  • Youth League

For riders beginning their racing career in U14 and U16 categories. U12s may become accredited and enter the Youth League in exceptional circumstances.

  • B League

For strong Youth Riders, as well as juniors and seniors looking to improve their skills and fitness in order to move into A League.

  • A League

For strong and skilful riders from Youth A, Juniors and Seniors.


Master & Endurance Nights 

28th January, 25th February and 24th March 2020

The Endurance 2,3,4 Masters League is sponsored by PDQ Cycle coaching.

The event is registered as Regional C+ and points are awarded for Band 5 for endurance events in Cat 2,3,4 and Youth Leagues.

 

Note to Riders:

  • Entry fee: £11.
  • All riders must sign on from 18:30 until 19:00.
  • All riders must attend the Riders Briefing at 18:45.
  • Racing starts immediately after Riders Briefing - NO warm up on track following the briefing, so please bring your own rollers.

League Endurance 2,3,4 

Classification: Regional C+

Licence Categories: 2nd, 3rd, 4th, Junior

 

League Endurance 2,3,4 Masters

Classification:Regional C

Licence Categories: 2nd, 3rd, 4th

 

Youth League Endurance

Classification: Regional C+

Licence Categories: A, B, C

 

Compulsory Requirements

Riders need Race Accreditation OR to have been approved by the Track Team for a one-use pass to allow them to race. The organising team have the right to refuse a rider to race if they do not have the correct experience. If in doubt, ASK for permission BEFORE the day.

Youth A may be allowed to enter the Cat 2,3,4 League with the agreement of the Track Team but not the Cat 2,3,4 Masters League. Masters may enter the Cat 2,3,4 League if they prefer to compete for ranking points. Youth riders will race the youth league in most cases. Points for Youth A and B will be separated out after the event.

Riders without Race Accreditation need to be recommended to Track Team by PDQ Cycle Coaching or 42 Degrees Coaching. No exceptions.


Sprint & Endurance Nights 

14 January, 11 February and 10 March 2020

Sprint League is sponsored by 42 Degrees Coaching.

Electronic Flying 200m, minimum of 3 sprints in a ladder format. Endurance leagues are 4 long races attracting BC ranking points.

The event is registered as Regional C+  and points are awarded in Band 5.

  • Entry fee: £11.
  • All riders must sign on from 17:30.
  • All riders must attend the Riders Briefing at 18:45 - NO warm up on track following the briefing, so please bring your own rollers. 
  • Electronic Flying 200m starts from 18:30
  • Racing starts from 19:00

Licence Categories: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, Elite

 

League Endurance 2,3,4

Classification: Regional C+
