CYCLE TOTS: This class is for non-riders and teaches the skills and confidence required to ride a bike without stabilisers. Takes place indoors in the Velodrome building. Bring your own bike or try one of our awesome balance bikes! Spaces are limited, so book in advance.

Sunday 9am-9.45am: 18mths to 3 years only
Sunday 10am-10.45am: 3 - 5 year olds
NEW! Balance Bike sessions starting Saturday 16th September at Active Living Centre
Saturday 10am-10.45am and 11am-11.45am: 18mths to 4 years
A balance bike (pictured above) is a bike without pedals that teaches kids as young as 18months to balance on two wheels. After a little practice, toddlers and kids learn to ride and coast on their bikes with no help from their parents. With the skills learned from a balance bike, riders at an early age can then transition straight to a regular kids bike without the assistance of stabilisers.
Please note - age limits are guidelines dependent on bike size and child size.
CYCLE FUN: This class is for children (minimum age 4 years old) and for those riders who have now got the grasp of riding on two wheels and can ride along confidently. Takes place indoors in the Velodrome building. Bring your own bike or try one of ours!
LEARN TO RIDE: This session is suitable for children 4-5 years old (non riders) who are ready to get off their stabilisers but need some extra help!
AGES 4-5, Sundays, 12.15pm-1pm.
LEARN TO RIDE A BIKE: This is a more intense session than the 4-5 year olds. There are only 4 spaces available in the session and children are encouraged to progress at a faster pace.
AGES 6+, Fridays 4.30pm-5.30pm.
MOUNTAIN BIKE TRACK SKILLS: Come and try our Mountain Bike skills track here at the Newport International Sports Village. Riders must be confident and be able to stand whilst pedalling and coasting the bike. Bring your own bike, and don't forget your helmet - it's essential!
Also available for parties and group bookings! Bring your own bike or book one of ours. A British Cycling qualified coach will teach you basic to more advanced techniques. Helmets are essential and again provided if needed. Limited to 10 spaces per session.
TRACK CYCLING: YOUTH BEGINNERS: This class is for ages 10-14. Introduction to Track Cycling with a friendly British Cycling coach. Completion of the beginners course will allow riders to access the Youth Drop In Sessions.
