Newport LIVE in partnership with the City of Newport Swimming and Water Polo Club is excited to recruit for a driven, ambitious, professional and highly qualified Swimming Coach to become an integral part of the very successful Newport Live Integrated Swim Programme. 

The competitive element of the Newport Live integrated swimming programme operates as a collaboration between Newport Live, The City of Newport Swimming and Water Polo Club and Swim Wales, with the status of a Swim Wales accredited Performance Club. 

The partnership currently has Welsh International swimmers, British and Welsh Champions as well as a number of Swimmers in Welsh and British Swimming squads. The successful candidate will be responsible for coaching a number of current Welsh Champions and swimmers in Welsh squads as well as developing and inspiring future champions. 

In addition to the performance programme, the successful candidate will also play a lead role in our successful Primary School Swim programme and will be responsible for day time delivery, administration, establishing and maintaining partnerships and the identification of talented swimmers for the competitive element of our Integrated Swim Programme. 

To be our Swimming Coach you will need to possess a UKCC Level 1 Coaching qualification or equivalent and have extensive knowledge and experience of making an impact coaching competitive swimming at Age, Youth and Regional level. To deliver the primary school swim programme, you will need to possess an UKCC Level 1 Swim Teaching Award and have experience and knowledge of swim lesson programmes and national governing body teaching plans.

Newport LIVE is looking to recruit enthusiastic, lively and self-motivated individuals as Casual Food and Beverage Assistants. Successful applicants are required to work across all Newport LIVE venues assisting in the provision of a positive customer experience within our Catering department.

This role will include working in the café and bars along with helping to organise and host children’s parties. This will entail the service and preparation of food, cash handling, cleaning catering areas and preparing areas for children’s parties.

The post holder will be required to work mornings, evenings and weekends as and when required.

Newport LIVE is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual to the post of a permanent part time Cleaning Operatives.

We currently have the following posts available:- 

  • 2 x 16 hours

The successful applicants will be based at The Newport Centre where they will assist in ensuring all users and customers of facilities experience a welcoming and safe environment that is fit for purpose, resulting in maximum enjoyment and repeat usage of facilities.

Duties will include cleaning tasks to ensure that the facility is maintained to a high level of hygiene and cleanliness.

The post holder will need to have:

  • an awareness of COSHH Regulations

  • experience of cleaning in public facilities

    The post holder will be required to work early mornings, evenings and weekends on a rota basis.

Newport LIVE is looking to recruit enthusiastic and motivated individuals to the post of Casual Theatre Technician to provide technical support for all venues across the city.
The successful applicant will be expected to provide technical support for get-ins, fit-ups and get-outs, as required by the Technical Manager, the Chief Electrician and the Production Co-ordinator. The post will require the post holder to work early mornings, evenings and weekends on a casual basis and the post holder will be required to attend mandatory staff training sessions.

Newport LIVE is looking to recruit enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and responsible Casual Learning Mentors to work as part of Newport LIVE’s award winning Sport and Physical Activity Development Team, working within the inspirational Alternative Education (Positive Futures) programme.

The Sport and Physical Activity Development Team provides sport and physical activity opportunities across the City of Newport in schools, communities, alternative education programmes and a variety of other environments. The team is held in high regard locally, regionally, and nationally due to their forward thinking, creativity, inclusive ways of delivering, and overall professionalism. In turn we would expect the same from candidates applying for this post.

The successful candidates would be required to work during day time but may also include working some evenings / weekend delivery when necessary.

Newport Live is looking to recruit a suitably qualified Casual Group Exercise Instructor as part of the established Newport Live group exercise program.

You will be independently teaching our participants group exercise appropriate to their level, ability and brand standards of Newport Live offering the best possible customer experience within the club and encouraging repeat custom.

You will hold a minimum of REPS Level 2 Fitness Instructor or Exercise to Music Qualification with appropriate CPD qualification relevant to the classes intended. Practical experience within the environment would be an advantage.

Newport LIVE are looking for suitable volunteers to join our dynamic team to help deliver our Integrated Swim Programme. The successful volunteer will be responsible for assisting in the sessions in a wide range of our programmes and events throughout the city.

The Integrated Swim Programme delivers a comprehensive aquatic programme including learn to swim, school swim programme, competitive swimming & water polo, lessons for children with specific needs, holiday activities, community clubs and other aquatic sports.

You will have the opportunity to attend the swim development coach education programme including stroke specific workshops, safeguarding and disability awareness. The aim of which is to develop teaching and engagement skills and ultimately improved sessions for our participants.

Grade 1
